Personal Cemetery Project

For many years I have been interested in genealogy. Visiting cemeteries to look at head stones to get information has been interesting. On some you may find an initial, last name and death date. That's it. On others, you may find full name, birth and death dates and places, spouses name, marriage date, children's names, a saying, poem or other information. Since most have only recorder the persons name and dates, I decided to copy all the information. That is what I am doing on my personal cemetery project.

The following is a list of cemeteries that I have visited. Some towns listed are ghost towns or the nearest town. Cemeteries with free fees, just click on the cemetery name to view. Cemeteries that have fees to view, please send us the proper fee to the address at the bottom of the page and we will Email or snail mail (please enclose a SASE for snail mail) you the URL to see the information. Currently we DO NOT take credit cards. We DO NOT recommend sending cash. Mail sometimes gets lost. If you send a check and we cash it, you know we received your request.

Symbols and letters used that are added to information mean the following:

[ ] = note we added

< > = calculated date

? = unreadable or not sure of information

+ or ssa = on same stone as

bk = back side of stone

brkn = broken stone

h = husband

l side = left side of stone

r side  = right side of stone

w = wife

I have also copied Spanish Fork Cemetery (Spanish Fork, Utah, Utah) records, up to about 1900, and Salem Cemetery (Salem, Utah, Utah) records to about 1990.

As you can see I am working on the smaller towns.

It is my hope to someday publish books with this information in them, along with directions on how to get to the cemetery. In the mean time, if I have the information typed and you have a name, I could see what information I have on a person, if you contact me.
